South London's off-beat-off, avant-noise-rocking unit Poino - John Greenhorn (drums) / Ross Blake (bass) / Gaverick de Vis (guitar, vocals) - packs together three divergent musical minds and unfurls a fractious presence heaving with ideas and loaded with possibility. Since 2006 they have continued to mangle and weld each others sonic abstractions together into a subtley complicated and alluringly strange, d'arranged, twisted family of songs. Mixing tempered skill with wild ignorance they spill out a rich clash of menace, ambiguity, and caustic bliss. At one moment thunderous and choking, the next disguising calm with a creepy, anxious tension. Or did they?
After delivering their strikingly well crafted home-made debut album 'Moan Loose' in 2010 they have gone on to successfully navigate this pointed mayhem through well over 100 venues up and down the European landscape. Their live show delivers the audiovisual, interplayed havoc in spades and after a spell away from the stage to complete their second record, 2014 should see a welcome return to the live arena off the back of their sophomore album's release. Dinner will be served.
